A weathered timber retaining wall in Lake Hawea cleaned, prepped and finished with two coats of Resene Lumbersider in Flaxpod for long-lasting protection and a clean, modern look.

This timber retaining wall in Lake Hawea had taken a beating from the elements and was well overdue for some attention. The old finish had broken down, leaving the timber exposed and looking tired.

We started by treating the wall with Resene Timber Wash to kill off any mould and mildew, then gave it a thorough pressure wash to strip back the grime and loose material. Once dry, we sanded any rough spots to get a smooth, sound surface for the new paint to grip to.

Two coats of Resene Lumbersider in Flaxpod were applied to give the wall a durable, weather-resistant finish that ties in nicely with the surrounding landscape. Lumbersider is a solid exterior paint for rough-sawn timber — it handles the UV and moisture well, which is exactly what you need in Lake Hawea.
