Cedar Wash & Oil, Northlake
A wash and fresh coat of wood oil brought warm colour back to weathered cedar on this Northlake home in Wānaka. See the before and after photos.

About the job
The cedar cladding on this Northlake home in Wānaka had become grey and weathered, particularly across the front gable. The timber needed a thorough clean before a fresh coat of wood oil could bring back its colour.
We carried out a two-stage wash to clean and brighten the cedar, then allowed the timber to dry before applying one coat of exterior wood oil. Surrounding surfaces were protected during the work.
The finished cedar has a warmer, more even colour, with the timber grain still clearly visible. The before and after photos show the change around the front entrance and gable, alongside the home's stonework.
